Week 6 - Alyssa Fujiwara - Matrix, Thumbnails, Ideas

 

Idea Descriptions:

 

1.    Person painting at home.

They reach for their coffee on the table.

They instead unknowingly grab their paint water and take a sip.

They choke.

 

2.    Person looking at cute cat and dog videos.

They dream of owning a pet.

They turn to look at their dying house plant.

They instead look up videos on how to care for plants.

 

3.    Zoom class in session on a computer screen.

We see a student listening intently to the lesson.

Student gets a papercut and swears loudly.

They are unmuted.

 

4.    Shot of a dirty floor and a person standing over it with a mop.

They begin cleaning, careful not to step on the clean spots.

They are satisfied they’re finished.

Realized they have trapped themselves on one dirty spot, surrounded by clean floors.

 

5.    A phone screen shows the time 10PM and the first chapter of a comic.

The person reading the comic lies in bed, hoping to read a few chapters before sleeping, it is night.

The same phone screen shows the time 5AM and the 300^th chapter of the same comic.

The person is still in bed, visibly exhausted, it is now daytime.  

 

6.    A screen of canvas with a test that starts in 1 minute.

Student adjusting glasses, prepared to take the test.

Back to the screen, the student is about to click ‘start test’.

Windows has mandatory restart for updates.

 

7.    Customer at restaurant with a mask, “A burrito,” while the cashier, who can’t hear them, says “a bowl?”

Customer leans a little closer, sounding it out, “A bur-ri-to.”

Cashier, still confused, says “A bowl?”

Customer succumbs, “Yeah, a bowl.”  

 

or

 

customer wants to order a burrito.

They tell the cashier through their mask, “One burrito”, but the cashiers repeats “One bowl?”

They tell the cashier, “no onions”, but the cashier repeats, “Just onions?”

They receive a bowl full of nothing but onions.

 

8.    Two sisters approach a cashier.

One sister is about to pay with her card.

The other sister intercepts with her own card.

A dramatic showdown ensues in front of the poor employee.

 

9.    Girl is with two friends getting boba.

They notice a sign that says “buy 2 get 1 free” deal.

Girl orders the drinks excitedly.

She drinks the 3 drinks by herself.

 

10. Person frying gyoza on a pan, they are cutting vegetables off to the side.

Someone (not shown) asks, “Is lunch almost ready?” and the person turns to respond, “yeah-“ but the oil splatters right on their face.
