- Guy 1 lights lantern, it floats up in the sky as he stands proudly, Guy 2 comes to show him something, Guy 1 looks and sees the neighbor's house on fire.
- Guy 1 lights lantern, lantern falls through the Earth, it appears in China, a mom and son watches as the lanterns come from the ground and floats to the sky for the festival.
- Guy 1 lights lantern, it floats up but gets shot down, on the other side of the yard there is a shooting range and two men practicing skeet shooting.
- Guy 1 lights lantern, it floats to the sky but smashes into a bird, which fell and both smash into a plane, which crashes down right after as Guy 1 watches in panic.
- Guy 1 lights lantern, it floats up, clouds form and lightning strikes it, Guy 1 looks at the fallen lantern frowning as it rains.
- Guy 1 lights lantern, Guy 1 floats instead of lantern, Guy 2 walks outside and watches helplessly as Guy 1 floats away.
- Guy 1 lights lantern, it flies to Brazil towards the Amazon Rainforest, the forest catches on fire, Guy 1 panics as he watches the news later that day, the police found his lantern as evidence.
- Guy 1 lights lantern, lantern flies up, lantern shows up to heaven, lands at a pile of lanterns, kites and balloons, God looks down confused and angry not knowing where all the trash is coming from.
- Guy 1 lights lantern, lantern floats away, it becomes night, the lantern returns to the house and knocks at the window, Guy 1 wakes up and opens it, the lantern threatens Guy 1 with a knife as revenge for abandoning it.
- Guy 1 carries a baby and lights the lantern, the baby grabs onto a string, Guy 1 gets distracted by the phone and the baby floats away, Guy 1 notices the baby is gone and sees the baby high in the sky with the lantern.

Omg I also like the fourth description, just the thought of so much going wrong is scary but funny.

ReplyDeleteI think these are all pretty funny, but the joke is pretty similar in all of them. Usually a Lantern in most cultures signifies a wish or ceremony of some sort for something.
ReplyDeleteWhat if the person wishes for something with the lantern and the lantern's accident gives them what they wish for!
Example: Homeless person uses it to wish for food. Lantern collides with a bird and sets it on fire. A baked chicken falls from the sky.
8 and 9 really got me, the house catching fire in the first comic also has a lot simple and clean potential.
